K.C. was born in 1971 and grew up in New York and Chicago.  In his early years, his artistic inspiration was sparked by his parents vinyl collection, trips to the dump with his dad, experiments with Sharpie markers, skateboarding, screen printing t-shirts, xerox machines, and glue sticks.  After graduating an art major from Illinois State University he created The Loft; an experimental collective of artists who lived and worked together in downtown Chicago.  During this time he was also a founding member of the theatre company Running With Scissors where his main focus was prop production.  Interior Illusions was his successful painting business for 15 years in which he specialized in murals and decorative painting.  He has been an active participant in the Burning Man community where his assemblage and art can be found throughout his camp Plunderground.  Last year his studio hosted the production of The Bonerpillar, a giant flame throwing mutant vehicle that is a caterpillar made up of bones and scrapped metals.

In the early 2000’s K.C. left Chicago and came out west to the small town of Williams, Oregon.  He recently finished building a home that houses his studio Moontail Arts.  He resides there with his lovely wife Brook and their odd assortment of cats, dogs, fish and chickens.
